Lauvergne's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

34-year old French center Joffrey Lauvergne (211-C-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Al Kuwait SC and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Al Sharjah (#3, 1-2) with 34-point margin 115-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Kuwait to take over top position in the West Asia Super League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Kuwait has a very solid 2-1 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Lauvergne had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kuwait's top player in his first season with the team. Lauvergne has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 59.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Charlie Moore (183-PG-1998). He is American guard in his first season at Kuwait. In the last game Moore recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 17 assists. Of course together with Lauvergne he helped Al Kuwait SC with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Al Sharjah (#3, 1-2) 115-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kuwait consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 2-1 record. Moore is a newcomer at Kuwait and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.7ppg (#4). He also recorded 9.7 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Deshawndre Washington (201-G, agency: The Crew A.M.) of league's second-best Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. Washington showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Shabab Al Ahli, leading his team to a 68-65 win against #3 ranked Kazma. Shabab Al Ahli needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Washington has a great season in West Asia Super League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.7ppg (5th best), rebounds with 9.7rpg (9th best) and assists with 11.0apg (3rd best).
